The One Where We Rode in an Ambulance

Despite how fun it sounds, an ambulance ride with your 9 month old son is no fun.

Josh and I went to the pool yesterday with two mommy friends yesterday. Thank goodness for mommy friends with this situation. They helped with my freak out.

About 5-10 minutes after we got out of the water, Josh started to look out of it. All of a sudden his eyes got teary and then red and puffy. He got a rash developing on his face and his nose was running. He also wasn't speaking (no babbles and no crying either). He just looked really out of it and kind of looked at me as if saying "Mommy, I don't feel good, what is wrong with me?" I am thinking to myself - "Heat stroke, drank pool water, dehydration?" I didn't know. I had a hat and sunscreen on him. I was scared as his breathing also looked off, so I called 911. The ambulance came and checked him out and he started to cry, so the medics said that was a good sign. His lungs were clear, and his heart sounded good, so it meant he didn't swallow too much pool water. When we got checked out by the doctor at the hospital, he said that Josh had an allergic reaction. He got a steroid shot and benedryl, and we left the hospital 3 hours later.

Fun fun fun.

Today, he is back to his normal self. We skipped our swim class today and will have a follow up appointment with the pediatrician on Monday.

If you have ever heard the phrase, "never leave the house without clean underwear". Friday was the reason why you should follow it. The pool is only 2 blocks from my house, so I didn't bring with me a change of clothes and Josh only had his cover up. When the ambulance came, I had no shoes on, no shorts, and was in a soaking wet bathing suit with only a short shirt on top. Josh was only in his diaper. Therefore, I went to the hospital in a soaking wet bathing suit and Josh had no real clothes.

9 Months

9 months. Now is the time where Josh is really changing. 2 teeth. Crawling. Clapping. Starting to pull up. Eating more and more solids. Loves Cheerios. Still loves admiring himself in the mirror. Da da da has now grown into ba ba ba and na na na plus some others. He loves to let you know when he doesn't want something. Starting to wave. Loves music. Loves bath time and swimming in the pool.

Joshua Crawls

The luxury of just putting Josh down and knowing he won't go anywhere is over. Josh is now officially crawling. For awhile, he had been rolling all over the place to get to where he wants to go. He is now officially moving forward. He is crawling like a snake right now and not crawling on all 4s, but it is just a matter of a few more days. My baby is growing up. sniff sniff

Father's Day

Josh's first father's day with his daddy and Grandpop Harold. We went to brunch and then had a nice dinner and grandmom and grandpop's house. Josh tried "peach puffs" today. It was the first food that he tried which was not pureed. He picked up the puffs with his hand but did not put it to his mouth himself. That is the nesxt step. Next up, Cheerios.

First Tooth

Josh's first tooth appeared today. It is his bottom tooth. It hasn't come in fully but has broken through, so you can see it. His other bottom front tooth is close to breaking through.

Fun Dinnertime Play

We are not sure why Josh thought it was funny when Mommy said "Boop" while putting food in his mouth. Apparently, it was hysterical.

First Trip to the Zoo

Today, Josh went to the zoo for the first time with Aunt Erin and Cousin Izzy. It was a hot afternoon, but he enjoyed seeing the animals.
