Joshua's First Swim Lessons

Today, Josh had his first swim lessons. The class is called Bubblers I. So cute. He did very well in the water and didn't mind getting wet. Getting him in the pool was easy, and he really had a good time. In his class are 2 of his friends, Owen and Matthew, who are 2 weeks younger than him. It was a fun time.

Joshua's First Passover

Over the weekend, Joshua celebrated the start of Passover. On Saturday night, he went to Grandmom and Grandpop Eichenholz's house and on Sunday it was over to Aunt Jeni and Uncle Mike's house. (Well, they are really cousins). 2 nice dinners at both houses. (Although, brisket and matzoh ball soup at both houses).

Playing with his cousin Maya and showing her who is boss.

Very intensely reading the Haggadah.

Look at the cute matzoh bib!

7 Months

7 months. Our little boy is now closer to one year than to birth. Our little baby is not so little anymore. Still no teeth, but he doesn't need teeth to say his favorite word "Dada". I am still trying for "Mama", but it is still not coming out. Josh loves to talk. We love to listen to him and give him the encouragement to talk some more. Josh fully rolls over from his back to his belly and belly to his back. It now seems that his belly is his favorite position to sleep. So much for the sleeping on his back theory. Josh just won't stay on his back. Joshua now uses his rolling to get from place to place. He just loves to roll all over the living room. It is amazing how far he can travel by this method.

Josh's Road Trip to PA

Josh's Aunt Kellie is having a baby girl at the end of May who she is going to call Kate. Today, was Kellie's shower to aquire all the things necessary (and unneccesary) to bring Kate into the world. Keith, Josh, and I drove down in the morning and arrived in about 2 1/2 hours. It should have taken 3 hours to get from Rockville, MD to Schwenksville, PA. Guess who was driving? Keith went with the guys to hang out at the place where the guys of the wives at the shower hang out, while Joshy and the ladies enjoyed the shower. Everyone loved Josh. (Who could blame them?) He was the hit of the shower. Who needed games at the shower? Everyone was entertained with passing Josh around. The winner of the game goes to Mike's Aunt Joanne for getting Josh down for a nap. It was a nice day, and Josh did really well with the car ride and going up and back in the same day.

Josh Loves Looking in the Mirror

Above the changing table in Joshua's bedroom, there is a mirror hanging on the wall. Joshua loves looking at himself in the mirror. Now that he can sit up, he loves sitting on the changing table and looking at himself and talking to "the baby" in the mirror.

Josh Gets a Visit From His Florida Grandparents

Last weekend, Josh had his grandparents visit from Florida for the weekend. The weather was nice on Saturday, so we went down to Eastern Market with cousins Jeni and Maya. The grandparents babysat for the day on Monday while Mommy and Daddy went to work. They realized how tiring it is to take care of an infat all day. Just wait until he starts walking. They haven't experienced anything yet.

6 Month Photo Shoot

Josh had his 6 month photo shoot about 2 weeks ago. I have learned my lesson and will have them done in the morning before his nap from now on. This time, he had his photo shoot at 3pm. It was a day where he didn't nap well in the morning, so he was a little cranky for his photo shoot. No matter what we did, Josh just didn't want to smile. We did get one picture where he was sort of smiling, but other than that, fairly serious looks. He still looked cute, though.
